Pakora Recipe:
Pakora Ingredients:
- 1 Cup gram flour (besan)
- 1 Medium-sized onion, thinly sliced
- 1 Cup vegetables (e.g., spinach leaves, potato slices, cauliflower florets)
- 1 Teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 Teaspoon coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- Water (enough to make a thick batter)
- Oil for frying
Pakora Masala Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
- 1/4 teaspoon black salt
- A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Pakora Batter:
- In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt.
- Gradually add water while stirring to form a thick batter. Ensure there are no lumps.
- Add sliced onions and other vegetables to the batter, ensuring they are well coated.
- Frying the Pakoras:
- Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer.
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the pakoras and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
- Prepare the Pakora Masala:
- In a small bowl, mix cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, chaat masala, black salt, and a pinch of asafoetida.
- Serve:
- Sprinkle the prepared pakora masala over the hot pakoras just before serving.
