Roopak's Aloo Jeera Masala Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 Medium-sized potatoes, peeled and diced into cubes
- 2 Tablespoons oil (vegetable or mustard oil works well)
- 1 Teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
- 1 Teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 Teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon red chili powder (adjust according to taste)
- Salt to taste
- Chopped coriander leaves for garnish (optional)
- Lemon wedges for serving (optional)
Instructions:
- Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the cumin seeds. Let them splutter for a few seconds.
- Add the diced potatoes to the pan and toss them well in the oil and cumin seeds.
- Sprinkle turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt over the potatoes. Mix well until the potatoes are evenly coated with the spices.
- Cook the potatoes on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until they are cooked through and golden brown. This may take about 15-20 minutes.
- Once the potatoes are cooked, garnish with chopped coriander leaves if desired.
- Serve hot with chapatis, rice, or as a side dish with your meal. You can also squeeze some lemon juice over the potatoes before serving for added flavor.
