Biryani Pulao Recipe
Here's a simple recipe for Biryani Pulao using Roopak's Biryani Pulao Masala:
Ingredients:
- 2 Cups Basmati rice
- 1 Large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 Large tomato, chopped
- 1 Cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, beans), chopped
- 2 Tablespoons Roopak's Biryani Pulao Masala
- 1 Tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1/4 Cup yogurt
- 1 Bay leaf
- 4-5 Whole cloves
- 4-5 Whole peppercorns
- 2-3 Green cardamom pods
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- 2 Tablespoons ghee or oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
- Fried onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Wash the Basmati rice in cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for about 30 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet or pot, heat the ghee or oil over medium heat. Add the whole spices - bay leaf, cloves, peppercorns, cardamom pods, and cinnamon stick. Sauté for a minute until fragrant.
- Add the thinly sliced onions to the skillet and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until the raw smell disappears.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.
- Now, add the mixed vegetables to the skillet and sauté for a couple of minutes.
- Add Roopak's Biryani Pulao Masala to the skillet and mix well with the vegetables.
- Add the soaked Basmati rice to the skillet and gently mix with the masala and vegetables.
- Pour in the yogurt and mix well to coat the rice evenly.
- Add enough water to cover the rice, about 3.5 cups. Season with salt according to your taste.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the skillet with a tight-fitting lid and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and all the water is absorbed.
- Once the rice is cooked, fluff it gently with a fork. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and fried onions if desired.
- Serve hot with raita or your favorite side dish. Enjoy your flavorful Biryani Pulao made with Roopak's Biryani Pulao Masala!
